88° anniversario della nascita di Edward Gorey

Google celebra oggi, con il suo Doodle, la nascita di Edward Gorey, autore ed illustratore statunitense, scomparso nel 2000.

Famoso per i suoi fumetti noir ha avuto un grande seguito nel pubblico amante delle atmosfere gotiche ed è stato fonte di ispirazione per il regista Tim Burton.

Oltre ai suoi libri, Gorey, ha illustrato i lavori di artisti come Samuel Beckett, TS Eliot, Edward Lear, Muriel Spark e moltissime fiabe classiche. Ha partecipato all'allestimento di opere teatrali e balletti sempre con il eccentrico gusto un po' macabro.
